About Jessica Nakamura
Nonprofit director turned web developer specializing in beautiful, functional custom web pages, projects, and apps.Jessica is of mixed Filipina ancestry and grew up in Pennsylvania as the oldest of six. She became a first-generation college student, studying social science at her local community college and going on to complete a Bachelor of Arts at the California Institute of Integral Studies. In 2015, Jessica enrolled in a work exchange program that brought her to Lahaina on the island of Maui. Jessica has spent the majority of her career working in various nonprofit services, including public libraries, the Head Start program, affordable housing, and financial literacy. She has a deep commitment to people, community, equity, and education, which she now combines with her love of web development to create websites, online platforms, mobile apps, and tools that serve the greater good. Jessica has been building websites, publishing newsletters, and learning new computer things since her family got their first PC in the 1990s. In 2024, she decided to turn her skills and passions into self-employment and launched Nakamura Web Services. She looks forward to serving the Hawai'i community for many years to come!

The hosting package I offer includes a retainer for ongoing website edits and updates at a discounted rate. You might also want to add a blog feature to your site to post updates on your own. To edit other page content, a custom solution can be configured at additional cost.

Unless specifically agreed otherwise, I don't write the content or provide branding or photos/graphics for your website or app. The client is responsible for providing the project content, while the developer is responsible for building the content into an attractive, functional website or app.

I ensure that your website is built with SEO best practices and performance optimization for search engines. Broader SEO and marketing strategy beyond the project code is outside the scope of my services.

Both the client and developer have the right to terminate the contract or agreement at any time with written notice. Payments received for any work not completed will be refunded. Refunds will not be offered for any work that has already been completed up to the point of termination.
